Hot and cold treatments

Hot and cold treatments can help with traumatic injuries such as sprains and bruising. Fill one large basin with very hot water and plenty of fresh rosemary sprigs or 50 drops rosemary essential oil. Fill another basin with cold water, plenty of ice and several handfuls of lavender flowers or 50 drops lavender essential oil. Then soak the affected area alternately in the two basins for 20 minutes each. Keep this up for an hour or more if possible to encourage healing and ease pain.
